How Do Overnight Camps Change Kids?

After a long school year, a change for kids to spend time away from their school friends, parents, and electronics get to experience unbelievable adventures. So, yes, they will change in so many wonderful ways.

Recently, the President of the American Camp AssociationTom Rosenberg who also was a camp director for 27 years, did an interview with “Let Grow”. In this interview, Tom believes one of the best benefits camps give kids is independence. Especially since the pandemic, they haven’t had the opportunity to spend a lot of time away from home and away from their parents.

And, of course, it benefits PARENTS!  He points out that we (parents) are all over our kids from the bus stop till bedtime. We couldn’t agree more.

When we talk about “disconnect” and “unplug,” it may sound tough, but when you speak to most adults who got to experience camp as a child, they will tell you they had the best experience and discovered who they were.  Camp is that amazing; it’s more than sports, color war, and arts and crafts. Find out more about what Tom shares about his knowledge and experience with camp.
